Dr. David Samadi’s SMART Technique

Dr. David B. Samadi is a certified urologist and he specializes in the diagnosis, analysis, and treatments of diseases such as kidney, prostate and bladder cancers as well as urologic diseases. He is the current urology chairman and chief of Robotic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Samadi attended Stony Brook University where he graduated with a degree in biochemistry and later his M.D in 1994, later he went to Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center for his postgraduate training. He did his fellowship in proctology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Samadi has enormous experience in his field and has worked in over 45 different countries and has practiced in every prestigious organization including Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and Colombia Presbyterian Hospital. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Urological Association.

Dr. Samadi has dedicated is work to help men complete recovery after prostate cancer and improving their quality of life after the treatment. He therefore recently developed the Samadi Advanced Robotic Technique (SMART) which is a new and innovative way of surgically removing the cancerous prostate. This technique reduces surgical time to two hours and recovery hospital time to less than 24 hours. His new technique employs the use of advanced computer technology and robotics in the removal of the prostate. He has already performed over 7,000 successful surgeries using this technique. This technique reduces the risk of damaging tissues and nerves during surgery. This is because Dr. Samadi does not suture the dorsal vein complex or open the side of the prostate. The procedure is simple and is carried out through very small microscopic precisions therefore greatly reducing pain and bleeding.

After surgery, his patients have reported 85 percent sexual functions shortly after the surgery and 97 percent continence rate.Dr. David Samadi has taken an initiative to help men who suffer from prostate cancer avoid the negative effects of prostate surgery. He has taken an initiative to educate the general public about medical related issues such as research which features latest innovations in medical technologies, men-related health issues and alternative medication and treatment for prostate cancer through holding TV and radio talk shows.
