End Citizens United Helping Make Elections An Independent Process

There is a need for a massive change in how the elections are conducted in the United States, and there are many independent organizations that are voicing their protest in many different ways across the country. The political landscape of the nation needs to be independent to stay neutral and function as a cohesive government. However, it seems that the corporations and affluent individuals in the United States have a lot of say in the government’s business as seen from the actions of political leaders and parties.

The role of big money in politics is apparent as most of the elections and political campaigns are funded by the personal funds of the corporations and wealthy individuals backing the political candidates. It makes it difficult for the government or the political candidate that comes into power to make independent decisions due to the favors being asked by their financial backers. Thus, the interest of the voters becomes a low priority in comparison to other agendas forwarded by the huge corporations.

To protest against the decision of Supreme Court to allow the corporations and individuals to fund the elections with as much money as they want, End Citizens United was established by Tiffany Mueller. End Citizens United is a political action committee that is dedicated to compelling the Supreme Court to change its decision constitutionally by supporting the political candidates who are against the use of corporate money for their election campaigns. End Citizens United also doesn’t take money from the corporations and depend on the money and support from the grassroots donors. The accounts of the End Citizens United are transparent and can be accessed by the public as well. In the upcoming midterm elections as well, the End Citizens United endorsed many political candidates from across the country.

Some of the political candidates that End Citizens United is endorsing are Sylvia Garcia, Josh Butner, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and Max Rose. The political candidates with a clean history of public service and who denounce the use of corporate money are likely to be supported by the End Citizens United. Some other political candidates that are sponsored by End Citizens United are Randy Bryce, Beto O’Rourke, Anthony Brindisi, Dean Phillips, and many others. End Citizens United aims to one day make elections a neutral independent process where the corporations with vast amounts of money cannot use their influence and money power.
